Michalek Brothers Racing Kicks off Second Half of 2023 Season at Virginia Motorsports Park’s Night of Fire
Competing for richest Top Alcohol Dragster purse of 2023
Michalek Brothers Racing (MBR) heads to Virginia Motorsports park for the first time as car owners this weekend for the track’s massive Night of Fire event to compete for a $10,000 winner payout in the Top Alcohol Dragster Challenge presented by The Empowerment Alliance. As a part of the PDRA ProStars event, competitors will also be competing for the first ever non-sanctioned PDRA 660 man trophy.
MBR returns to Virginia Motorsports Park as competitors for the first time in nearly two decades after having won their last appearance as crew members on Mark Thomas’ IHRA Alcohol Funny Car in 2006.
“We are really excited about this race,” said Kyle. “The opportunity to compete in front of new fans, at a great facility, and for a big payout is a recipe for a helluva weekend! We must bring a versatile tune up and have our car capable of running well in both mid-July afternoon heat, and also be ready to get after it with several passes scheduled under the lights.”
This weekend’s event schedule allows for open testing for cars on Friday afternoon from 2:00PM to 8:00PM before the lone round of qualifying at 9:30PM. Once the order is set, the first round matchups will be determined via callout and will be contested at 12:20PM on Saturday afternoon. The 4 winners will then advance to the semi-finals which will be run during the Night of Fire portion of the event at 6:40PM and matchups will once again be determined by callout. The final round will then be contested at 9:00PM where the winner will take home the largest payout in Top Alcohol Dragster this season.

We have an awesome field of cars coming, we’re going to compete on arguably the best racing surface on the planet, and we’re all going after quite literally the biggest prize you can compete for this year…it’s going to be epic!”
