Michalek Brothers Racing Ready for Four-Wide Redemption

Big changes and progress since 2021 event

Just over one year after Michalek Brothers Racing (MBR) pulled out of the gates of zMAX Dragway with a severely wounded motor and a charred racecar, the team returns to the spectacular Charlotte, North Carolina facility looking to rewrite the story. MBR will once again compete at the NHRA Four-Wide Nationals and the action kicks off this Friday afternoon when qualifying gets under way.

“We love the four-wide format and think this race offers something very unique and exciting for both race teams and fans,” said Kyle. “zMax Dragway is one of our favorite facilities, and we always look forward to coming here. The team has been working hard since we returned from Gainesville so we can keep building on our early season momentum. We plan to come out of the gate hard and take care of unfinished business from last year.”

zMax Dragway continues to be a polarizing facility for MBR as it was home to some of the team’s highest highs with two NHRA national event final round appearances and an event win, but it has also been home to some the of the team’s more frustrating moments with a handful of first round losses due to mechanical failures.

Michalek Brothers Racing will hit the track for the first time since their season-opening race in Gainesville, FL where the team opened up the year running their career quickest elapsed time en route to a quarter-final finish.

Michalek Brothers Racing will once again be hosting a group of employees and staff members from Fund That Flip at this event, and the team cannot wait to welcome them to the track for a great weekend of racing. This weekend’s event also marks the official on-track start of MBR’s newest partnership with SJK Machine.

“I can’t wait to get back down to Charlotte and put the car back on track after what our team was able to accomplish last month in Gainesville,” said Corey. “The on-track performance during E1 was something that we have been chasing and getting closer to since we bought the car in 2015 and now we are determined to go out and show that it wasn’t a fluke. This is a really big event for us and we’ll need to be prepared to run hard from the moment we unload the car. I’m counting down the seconds until we hit the road, and I can’t wait to get this one under way!”

MBR will hit the track for 4 qualifying runs prior to Sunday eliminations with Q1 and Q2 scheduled for 2:00PM and 5:45PM on Friday, and Q3 and Q4 scheduled for 11:15 and 2:45PM on Saturday. Eliminations will be contested on Sunday at 1:45PM, 3:20PM, and 4:40PM. Tickets for the event can be purchased HERE.
