Michalek Brothers Racing Ready for a Saturday Night Showdown at 2022 Night Under Fire

Final race of 3 consecutive events in Ohio

Michalek Brothers Racing is eager to return to Summit Motorsports Park’s highly-acclaimed Night Under Fire event for the fourth time.

Michalek Brothers Racing (MBR) is prepped for their fourth trip to Summit Motorsports Park’s (get directions) famed Night Under Fire event. In a year that has seen the team reel off a national event win and a 5.18 second lap, the level of intensity for going into a race has never been higher. This year’s edition will feature a head-to-head showdown under the lights between MBR’s Fund That Flip/Empowerment Alliance A/fuel dragster vs. Mike Hepp’s eBay Motors blown top alcohol dragster.

MBR comes into the third and final leg of their home-state tour hoping to return their injected-nitro dragster to the level of performance that it was accustomed to after making big strides to close out the 2021 season beginning with learnings from last year’s Night Under Fire event.

“We circle this event on our schedule every year,” said Kyle. “This is the most fun event of the entire season, and we are so excited to put some fire in the pipes in front of a packed house! It’s an honor to be included as part of this show and we plan to put on a helluva show in front of our family, friends, and fans!”

For fans attending the 45th edition of Summit Motorsports Park’s crown jewel event, the following represents a timeline of key events throughout the day:

  • 3:15PM – Driver autograph session
  • 5:30PM – Pre-race ceremonies
  • 7:00PM – Showtime
  • 10:00PM – Fireworks and post-race ceremonies

In addition to a packed schedule of events, MBR will also be hosting nearly 400 guests from team partners including Fund That Flip, The Empowerment Alliance, and SJK Machine. Team co-owner Corey Michalek is excited for all that the “biggest day in drag racing” has to offer.

“There is no day in drag racing that is the equivalent of Night Under Fire,” said Corey. “I’ve been to Indy on Monday, and I’ve been to Pomona on Championship Sunday. Both of those days play incredible roles in defining the history of the sport of drag racing, but they are for a different purpose and goal in mind. While we are coming to this weekend’s event with every intention to run hard and ultimately “win,” we are first and foremost being brought in to put on a show. It is both a privilege and responsibility to be included in this event. Nowhere else is there a comparable atmosphere for a drag race than what our team, our competitors, and most importantly — our fans and guests will experience at Night Under Fire. From the moment that Bill Bader Jr. walks out onto his incredible racing surface in his signature black, white, and red tuxedo in front of 45,000+ fans to kick off pre-race ceremonies until the last firework has faded from the night sky this event brings a level of excitement unlike any other.”

“We are ready to make this a night to remember for all involved, and we are ready for it to be the springboard that propels us towards reclaiming our spot amongst the hardest running Top Alcohol Dragsters in the class in our final two races of the year in Indianapolis and Dallas.”

Limited reserved, general admission, and standing room only tickets remain for the event and can be purchased here.
