MBR Looking Forward to the Challenge of 4-Wide Competition This Weekend in Charlotte
Returns to zMAX Dragway as defending champions from 2022 event
Michalek Brothers Racing returns to zMAX Dragway this weekend to defend their 2022 Circle K NHRA Four-Wide Nationals win.
Michalek Brothers Racing (MBR) is back in action for the first time in 6 weeks since their season opening semi-final finish at the NHRA Gatornationals in March. MBR heads to zMAX Dragway, a home-away-from-home of sorts, for their annual spring stop at the “Bellagio of Dragstrips” to compete in the east coast’s only 4-wide event.
MBR will pull through the zMAX Dragway gates as the defending event champions after clawing their way to victory at the 2022 edition of the Circle K NHRA Four-Wide Nationals and will be looking to build on the performance gains found during eliminations in Gainesville.
“We are excited and up for the challenge of defending our event win from last year,” said Kyle. “We learned a lot at Gainesville, and have been chomping at the bit to get back to the track and pick up where we left off. Everyone is entitled to their opinion on the 4-wide format; I personally love it. It’s different, it’s challenging, it’s exciting. It adds another dimension to the event, and I look forward to running this race every year.”
Michalek Brothers Racing took home the Wally at the 2022 edition of the Circle K NHRA Four-Wide Nationals.
zMAX Dragway has been a polarizing track for MBR over the years with results mixing from 2 national event wins and runner-up finishes, to major parts failures and first-round losses. The team will look to add another tally to the good results column this weekend while hosting a large contingent of guests from Fund That Flip.
“Every year we look forward to competing in Charlotte,” said Corey Michalek. “The facility is one of the most spectacular venues on the NHRA tour and we have created some of our best racing memories while competing there. More recently, it’s also become a destination that we have some of our largest turnouts with our partners from Fund That Flip. It always feels like a hometrack each time we’re on the property there and we are so pumped to get back on track and spend more time with everyone from Fund That Flip!”
